Crop Circles are selling out faster than we can make them. Be sure to come in and claim yours before they are gone! Ask us about signing up for a Crop Circles membership to guarantee your kit each month (and don't worry, if you don't like the kits that particular month (as if! *wink*) you can always skip a month and roll your membership back a bit)

We have a TON of new product rolling in this week, take a peek at What's Coming to see what's on it's way and be sure to check What's New often to keep up to date on what has arrived. More often than not lately things are selling out within days so if you see something you want but can't make it in, call us and we'll be happy to send it to you and save you the trip!

I need new ideas for the Ideas page guys, so if any of you have some fabulous tips/tricks/techniques you'd like to share I would love to feature your idea! Help me out, I'm in a creative rut!

Website makeover coming later this week. No major changes, just a little facelift, but we will be changing up the "Featured" sections. So if you have a free minute, check out some profiles on our fabulous Customers, Employees, and Products. (and yes - I know - Kelsey isn't a product but if we could bottle up her creativity we'd all be millionaires so it's a nice thought...)

And just a heads up, we are setting the fall schedule in stone this week. By next Monday we'll be ready to unveil a schedule packed with classes, crops, celebrities, events, and so much more! Think Fall Scrap, garage sale, page contests, etc. Yeah, the good stuff!

We had to wait to share the story...

but not anymore. If you have been following the news you may have heard about two local women who were caught stealing scrapbook and crafting supplies from many local stores in our area, including SBA. What we want you all to know is that this has been a very long and arduous process. Years (try almost five) have gone by with no justice until now, which for some stores is too late. We have spent hundreds of hours trying to figure out the tangled web of lies these women were telling our customers in our own backyard. We spoke with police, reps, manufacturers, and city officials. The case did not really break until a wonderful woman named Lita, headed our warning that these women were targeting CW. She and the owners of CW hired a an investigator who eventually caught her. It seems a moot point to mention that this has negatively effected our local scrapbook market but it needs to be said. These women were stealing from stores but the stole so much more than product. Stores have closed, jobs have been lost, and hard working tax paying community members have spent a huge amount of time and energy trying to catch this duo. If you were duped by this woman, you are not alone. You may remember her from a church near the farmers market in Beaverton, a house in Hillsboro, or her home in Beaverton. She is a pro in chosen line of work. She sounded very convincing. Spewing stories about what a hard line negotiator she is and that these store owners just don't know how to get a better price on their wholesale goods. Giving out pilfered goodies to the children as their mothers unknowingly bought stolen goods. For the record, the news and Oregonian have reported that she stole upwards of two hundred thousand dollars in goods. This has been going on for more than five years that we are aware of and it has been rumored that they usually attempted to steal a few thousand dollars in product per week. If rumors were accurate, two hundred thousand may be a very low number with this formula.

I would like to thank the two Karens for reminding me that good is just, and wrong leads to prison. If it wasn't for the Karens, we would not have had the opportunity to better know the other local store owners who we stand proudly by in this small metro area of independant stores who help many people preserve their memories forever.

Happy Father's Day! We are open today from 1-5pm

Happy Father's Day to all the Dads out there! I hope your day is filled with happy joyful moments. My father lives in Mexico but today I am thinking of all the wonderful memories we have shared. The time he was casting his fly fishing reel and the fly hooked my cheek. The years of sitting down for dinner with anticipation to be the first to ask dad how his day was. The funny things my dad says the thought of his big smile and the sound of his laughter. My dad had an honest approach to life; work hard, play harder. He has always been an adventurer. Share your stories of Dad this week as we celebrate the our fathers. These post's may just inspire you to create a page just for Dad.

Last minute teacher gift idea!

Blog_stuff_087_2

Recipe for a super cute teacher tin with next year in mind!

1 Boxer Tin

Color scheme that suits teacher

Tons of leftover ribbon that matches the color scheme

Tissue or easter grass

Any self adhesive letter stickers

Spa products, gift card, or just a very nice thank you card

The content is the best part. I asked my son to write his first grade teacher a thank-you note. I explained that he should let her know why he liked her, what was the best part of first grade, and what he enjoyed learning from her. This is a simple format that lends itself to more expression and thought from my son. He took his time and wrote a very sweet note which we laminated and placed over the spa products in the bottom. He then took it upon himself to draw a picture. Bonus! I also wrote a thank-you from my husband and I to relay our gratitude for her hard work this year.

Bring it all together by adding the gift, the notes, pictures, and anything other goodies you choose to incorporate. Add the ribbons, stick the stickers, and the teacher will have a re-usable tin for next year!

Don't forget to have your child sign and date the interior of the tin with a Slick writer!
